In this world of unlimited possibilities, we are engaged with a new concept of decentralization. This thought of decentralization has opened the door for cryptocurrencies, NFTs and the metaverse.

These NFTs will soon be the core of metaverse. Although they are designed as digital assets for human beings, they're supposed to be used in the metaverse.

Like physical art, NFT art also requires frames. The only difference is that these frames are used to display these digital assets. If you are planning to buy a frame for your NFTs, this article will help you decide which one to choose.

What is Digital Art?

In the past, most artists have expressed themselves by using brushes and paint. Creative minds are capable of making beautiful and original things. However, now that we live in a digital world, it only seems natural that artists have turned to this as a means of self expression.

The hand-drawn artistry has shifted to the digital world where many new things have been explored and incorporated, like video technology, computers, and television.

This shifting of hand-drawn artistry to digital technology is referred to as digital art. Such art is created using digital technologies and is presented digitally. The images and art are created digitally on the computer. Hand-drawn images are later scanned into the computer, and from there, the changes are made using different editing tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

There have been a lot of innovations made in digital art since it was discovered in the '90s. Animations and 3D sculptures are some of the kinds used under the term digital art. Hence, this sums up that digital art bridges art and technology, which further branches out to many new ways to make art.

The inception of digital art took place after the invention of computers. Such artistry couldn’t make its place in the industry without computers. Soon after its invention, the artists gathered thorough research and explored the art options to find out what possibly could be created with the options that were available at that time.

The art on computers first started in the early ’90s by Frieder Nake. He was the one who first got the idea to enable the option of shapes on the computer. Later on, with time, people started discovering other art options and created many such things.

The art they used to discover and create exhibits in the museums for the people to enjoy.  All these video games today are a true example of digital art. What you see on your screen as digital art has layers of complex representation involved in production and presentation.

There are different types of digital art:

  • Fractal/Algorithmic Art, this art category is created by using mathematics. Hence, it is also known as algorithmic art.
  • Data Moshing, in this art category, the file or images and videos are decoded to produce the desired visual effects.
  • Dynamic painting, this category of art, is the most used and is an advanced form of digital art. Minimum physical work is required to complete the craft.
  • 2D computer graphics, also known as two-dimensional models like texts and digital images. 2D art is used mainly in traditional pictures like typography, cartography, technical drawing, and advertising.
  • 3D computer graphics, known as 3 Dimensional, is an advanced form of 2D graphics. The 3D model only becomes graphic once it’s displayed.
  • Pixel Art, this category of art is mainly used in videos and movies.
  • Digital Photography, this category of art is achieved by using a digital camera to capture the desired shot, which cannot usually get captured using a standard camera.
  • Photo painting involves the usage of photoshopping and editing pictures. Photo painting is also a subcategory of photo painting achieved through the succession of digital photography.
  • Digital collage, what usually comes to our mind when we hear the word college? Combination of several pictures? Well, in this category of digital collage, this means putting several textures and ideas together in one frame.
  • 2D digital painting, this category of art, is a basic form of painting having no added effects.
  • Computer-generated painting, here the artist directs the computer about what to incorporate and what not to. In other words, the artist leads the computer on how to paint.
  • Raster painting, with this category, the traditional forms of images can be given an anesthetic and authentic look. This type of digital art is used to illustrate the raw art digitally.
  • Integrated art or hybrid painting/mixed media includes more than one form of art. The artist has the option to create art of his choice.
  • Manual vector drawing, in this category of vector painting, involves the usage of shapes and lines. However, the quality and sharpness of the images created are not compromised.
  • 3D digital painting, which is an advanced form of a 2D digital image, an option of adding extra effects in 3D digital painting is given to the user.

What is an NFT?

NFT stands for Non-fungible Token. In simple words, the phenomena can be explained as a digital asset that exists in the digital world. This is a new category of art in which the artist sells the art effect in the creative industry.  An NFT is a digital asset representing art, music, and videos. They are bought and sold simultaneously. They work as a bridge in buying and selling digital art. In one of the researches, since pictures can be screenshotted and downloaded, what is the need for an NFT then?

It is because NFT helps you buy the original item. Also, it has the option of authentication that the image belongs to you if you purchase it through NFT. NFT has a slight variation as compared to cryptocurrency. The programming of NFT and cryptocurrency is the same. Bitcoin and Ethereum are the same.

Let’s learn how crypto and NFT have their differences. Just as in crypto, they can be traded or exchanged for one another. However, they are equal in value. One dollar is equal to another Bitcoin.

It’s just not similar in the case of NFT. The existence of NFTs is on blockchains. However, NFTs are mostly held on the Ethereum blockchain. These NFTs are drafted from digital objects representing tangible and intangible items. Examples of such items include art, GIFS, Music, Designer sneakers, Avatars, video game skins, collectibles, highlights of both videos and games.

In NFTs, A buyer has two options. He can either buy an actual oil painting on a canvas or buy a digital image file. So most buyers get their hands on the digital file.  With the help of an NFT, you get the authentication and ownership of the product. At a time, an NFT owner can only be one. Their unique data tends to verify ownership and transfer the tokens.

The actual usage of NFTs lies in monetizing the wares of artists and creators. In simple words, the artists and content creators don’t have to worry about selling their products in the auction or relying on galleries. They can see the art to the customer as an NFT. The artists are also given the leverage to keep a certain percentage of profit whenever their art is sold. It would help if you learned about how to buy NFTs. The foremost step in buying NFT is to have a digital wallet. This way, you would buy and store NFT in your digital wallet.

Then you would have to see which category of currency your NFT accepts. It would help if you purchased some cryptocurrencies like Ether, Bitcoin, etc. Some of the famous marketplaces of NFT; OpenSea.io, Rabble, Foundation. All these categories of marketplaces host thousands of NFT creators and collectors but, it is suggested that you do your thorough research before buying. This way, you would know which marketplace to invest in to buy NFTs. If your research is incomplete, there are chances your work is sold, and you have no idea about it.

What is an NFT Collection?

As per the studies and research, we now have a firm grip over what precisely an NFT is, how to buy and sell it and what is the relationship of an NFT with a cryptocurrency. By the time, it’s explicit about their differences as well. It’s time to know what we mean by an NFT collection.

NFTs can work as any speculative asset. This means you are considering an NFT as an asset and buying it with the thought that its value might increase later. You may later sell it if once its price is increased so that you gain profit out of it. Such is a basic definition of what an NFT collection means. Over time, the NFT art collection retains its value and is appreciated. It’s a great way to know that NFT art collectors have a sound knowledge about how the technology has changed the game and made the whole formulation process more manageable and cheaper at the same time.

Many years ago, great artists invested enormous time and devotion and used it to bring masterpieces into the limelight. It’s not similar to what happens these days. An example is Picasso, who created 13,000 art images.

Technology has advanced creativity, and it saves time. Buyers usually opt for buying digital files of the art, so they become the owner as well. However, NFT artists may also spend months drafting an art and furnishing a single token, but with the feasibility of NFT, it becomes easy to market or sell your NFTs. If you have any such concept in your mind to deal with your NFTs, you need to be vigilant enough to appraise the value of a token and finally shoot the shot. It’s pretty accurate that exclusivity of the art becomes impossible when the digital files have easy access to be shared freely on the internet. But if you have purchased an NFT, you get the authentication, and you instantly become the owner of your work. It gets impossible for a person to impersonate and copy your art.

Once you turn to the NFTs collection, you will be sure that the work belongs to you only. Not only you but the buyers would also have a sound belief that whatever artwork they are buying, it’s one of its kind and that they are the only people to own the painting which they are buying.

The latest news shows that Pepsi will release its first NFT collection. The main focus of this NFT collection would be to lower the cost barrier to entry for consumers.  These NFTs are formed using the basic algorithms, but each of them is ensured. These assets used in the NFTs are fungible, which means they can be replaced or exchanged just like a dollar bill.

As per the rankings, in the best NFT collection, the Mutant Ape Yacht Club ranks first. However, Cryptopunks, the sandbox, cool cats NFT ranks 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. The rankings are as per their popularity and demand.

Where can I find art for my digital art frame?

A digital art frame is a display where you can show your artwork. For this, the classics are also converted to digital formats. Each of these digital art frames has its hardware and software features. The features that are included in a digital art frame include anti-glare displays, which usually have wide angles for viewing along with wide gamut's for reproduction.

You have access to connect your artwork with the internet to manage and facilitate the content accordingly. However, a digital art frame cannot be used as a TV. It’s just to display the artwork. Considering this statement, the Samsung QLED is an exception. The best digital art frame these days is Samsung, nonetheless.

Following are the rankings that may make it easy for you to buy the best art frame for yourself.

  • Samsung the frame: Samsung has been creating masterpieces and is now about to introduce TVs with a double art frame. Samsung plans to bring microLED TVs and oversized screens to the market in 2021.

  • Net gear Meural ll: This category is best in terms of money and features. It has almost around 1080p resolution, a quad-core CPU with a RAM of 2 GB. Its frame tends to rotate from portrait to landscape easily.

For the future, it has plans to incorporate a library of free work for the people.

What is a matte display?

There are two different categories of displays discussed in this article. One is glossy, and the other one is matte. When talking about the quality of flat screens, they are famous for their anti-glare coating applied to them. It has a polymeric sheet on it. Just because of this anti-glare coating, it becomes easy for them to prevent reflections. It becomes easy for the user to see a matte screen no matter if the room has sunlight in it or if it has intense lights coming straight from above the fluorescent bulbs.

The only con of such matte screens is that it tends to make the display's color a bit darker and dull. Apart from this, matte screens may not look as visually appealing as glossy screens do. The outer layer on the flat screens is coarsened using chemical and mechanical processing. Spluttering is one of the ways to manufacture such matte screens. Such screens diffuse the ambient light coming straight to their surfaces rather than reflecting the morning to the user.

The texture of such a screen is also very different yet smooth compared to a glossy screen. It gives a very finished and improved look to the user that the user enjoys using even for a longer-term. The light coming from the matte screen doesn’t reflect the user; hence it doesn’t irritate. The version of the flat screens can be named as grainy and subdued. These screens wouldn’t look brighter and usually have a dull appearance.

If you are one of those people who love to enjoy videos and movies on high definition, then there are chances you might not like these matte screens. They make the screens dull, and you may not be able to enjoy the high resolution as well.

What is a glossy display?

Unlike a matte screen, a glossy screen has a shiny appearance. They tend to bring vibrant and intense picture quality. The only con of using such a screen is that they reflect the light coming from a glossy screen. If the lighting in the room is too bright or if the monitor is placed where there is the extreme exposure to sunlight, then it might not be pleasant to work on it.

Its usage solely depends on the light. If the light is too bright, it might act as a mirror and irritate the user. However, the pictures on a glossy screen tend to show more vivid and bright colors. They have a more fancy, high-tech, and colorful approach to the users. There is no lie that glossy screens produce more transparent and brighter images. They showcase deeper blacks and richer colors.

Apart from this, there is no lie that glossy screens can distort the images because of their glare. If you are fed up with glossy screens, and it sometimes hurts your eyes to sit in front of a glossy screen for hours, the most simple hack you can do is to apply an anti-glare filter on the net.

This would stop the screen from reflecting the light to the user's eyes. It’s no wonder that continuous usage of such a screen may lead to eye strain, causing headaches, migraine, and eye burn. You have to choose accordingly.

What does digital art look like on a Glossy display?

Glossy screens tend to make the image and tone sharper. The image appears to look brighter. There is no doubt in it that a glossy screen has a smoother appearance of polarizing as compared to the matte one. The modern glossy film has an anti-reflective coating of chemicals. The chemicals in this process used are usually polymers and magnesium fluoride.

The application of such chemicals on the screen absorbs the sunlight. A glossy screen makes the image sharper and brighter; the matte screen absorbs the ambient light.

What does digital art look like on a Matte display?

Digital art on a matte screen appears to be more smooth. It eliminates reflections of the light coming towards the net. It protects the eyes as it doesn’t reflect the morning to the user's eyes.

Also, you don’t have to be worried about its cleaning. Matte display screens don’t create an awkward appearance because of dust and smudges. So, it’s fair to say that the appearance of graphics, animation and image brightens up on matte screen.

Thus it concludes that matte screens bring an overall great picturization of digital art. As far as the glare is concerned, you can use protecting covers to stop it. Matte screens are best suited for digital art images. They bring an overall perfect picture of the art with brighter hues.
